Welcome back to all our singers after the beautiful sun filled summer holidays, looking forward to hearing the choir produce some new songs over the coming weeks in the lead up to our Christmas calendar of events. Craig, our MD is working with a couple of new music books, which we have been able to invest in thanks to a very generous grant from the Milton Keynes Community Foundation. Really looking forward to hearing some of the newly produced music over the Christmas and Winter season, plus lots more of our existing repertoire.
It has been a delight to welcome 6 new young singers this term. We hope that they continue to enjoy and embrace MKYC over the coming years.
It is always a pleasure to see lots of new faces coming through our doors on a Tuesday evening. If anyone knows of anyone who would be interested in joining the choir for a taster session please take a look at our Home – Contact Us Page.
Please keep a look out too on our Concerts page for our forthcoming seasonal events, which we hope to post in the very near future.
Keep on singing
Karen Elliott (Chair)

I am in the process of loading all our legal documents and will be adding important dates and hopefully some more recent photos of the choir shortly.
If any of you, parents or choir members, have any nice photos that you have taken at our summer or Christmas concerts please send them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will add them. Thank you!!

Welcome back MKYouthChoirers and others!
We have started 2 new CHRISTMAS (ooh so exciting!) pieces this week:

Two very different but lovely songs getting us into the Christmas spirit!

Wow! What a great rehearsal! We had some amazing comments when we arrived all about the concert, everyone was very happy! We refreshed our brains of some past songs and had quite a laid-back rehearsal! A great way to near the end a of term!
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MKYC FOR A FABULOUS PERFORMANCE AT THE 'SINGING FOR WILLEN' CONCERT LAST NIGHT!
It went brilliantly, and we got loads of positive comments from people!
A huge well done to our little new members (ages 7 and 8) who performed after only 4 Tuesday rehearsals!
Thank you if you came to spectate and we will inform you of the total money raised ASAP!
Today, we practiced the songs we will sing in the concert this Saturday. We warmed up with a medley of 'When The Saints', 'Swing Low' and 'She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain', followed by 'Y Paradisi'. Then we sang 'Barbara Allen', then 'Requiem for a Hero' - they're both great pieces!
'Requiem for a Hero' again, then the 4-chord mash-up medley of pop songs (including Forget You, I'm Yours and I Dreamed A Dream - great songs). To finish we polished off our 'Requiem For A Hero', got it perfect and it sounds fab!!
Everyone's looking forward to the concert on Saturday! Will you be there?
