The MKYC take part in the Milton Keynes Festival of Arts every year and have come first in our category 4 years in a row. We have never received lower than a distinction and this year (2011) we came first and 'Highly Commended' which was a step up from our 4 year rolling distinctions.
We perform numerous concerts throughout the year, in venues including churches, parks and halls.
In 2007 at Christmas time, we performed for customers in the newly opened Brasserie Blanc, The Hub in Milton Keynes. We even got to meetRaymond Blanc, who told us he was very impressed and signed menus for us! We appeared on the local news that evening too.
Most recently, we appeared as part of the congregation on the popular BBCprogramme Songs of Praise to commemorate the 9/11 attacks. We were all very touched that we were personally given this opportunity, and the memory of singing for such a special and memorable occasion will stay with the choir forever. If you would like to see the choir singing, part 1 is shown below and follow links below for parts 2&3. The choir is situated in the first 2 rows of the far right block, looking from the front.
